FLIPPING ESSA: Achieving Success through Student Engagement

A National Convening of the NSAESC

May 9-10, 2018 ~ Baltimore, Maryland

Hosted by the U.S. Department of Education and the Office of Safe and Healthy Students and its National Student Attendance, Engagement, and Success Center (NSAESC)

_____________________________________________________

This face-to-face convening is open to all K-12 faculty and administrators interested in learning more or deepening their knowledge of Success Mentor initiatives and Early Warning Systems (EWS).

EWS and Success Mentor sessions will run concurrently. Therefore, schools and/or districts interested in learning about or implementing both strategies should plan to send teams of 2 or more, if possible. All presentations will be made available to all attendees via digital download.

In addition to engaging and interactive general sessions, the event will feature two learning tracks catered to any level of knowledge and experience.

Examples of Sessions in the Getting Started Track:

  • Introduction to the basics of Success Mentors and EWS
  • Advice and strategies for building capacity and buy-in for Success Mentors and EWS

Examples of Sessions in the Deeper Dive Track:

  • Design and implementation of specific evidence-based mentoring models and practices
  • Integrating EWS at the elementary school level
  • Strategies for supporting students exposed to homelessness and/or the justice system

Registration opens early Spring 2018. Please contact jcase@performexcel.com with questions.
