Jina Kim

Postdoctoral Fellow

Jina Kim, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University. Her research centers around educational equity, focusing on how policy and legislation affect both educational and social outcomes. By using geospatial analysis, she studies variations in educational opportunities and access across different regions. Her research has examined nationwide trends in educational opportunities, college access, and the effects of special education law.

She earned her Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies from Indiana University Bloomington. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a research assistant at the National Assembly Research Service in South Korea. She also holds an MA in Education from Seoul National University in South Korea and a BA in Political Science from McGill University in Canada.

Kim’s diverse academic and professional experiences across different countries enrich her commitment to understanding and addressing educational disparities, aiming to contribute to more equitable access to quality education for all students.
