The Everyone Graduates Center (EGC) at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Education seeks a new Senior Program Officer to direct one or more of the EGC’s programs focused on secondary school improvement and redesign.

This position will lead projects within the School Design and Improvement Division (SDID), a joint effort of EGC and City Year. Initial work will center on developing, implementing, and supporting a Network School Improvement Initiative involving four to five major school districts, and across them up to 40 middle grades schools. This initiative will focus on using networks, evidence-based school improvement strategies and continuous improvement techniques to increase 8th grade on-track rates, as well as supporting SDID high school design and competency-based learning efforts, currently located at Compass Academy in Denver, Colorado.

Ideal candidates will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrated success working productively with multiple partners on collaborative school improvement and design projects, and substantial experience working with middle and high schools and school districts to implement evidence-based improvement and redesign efforts. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of continuous improvement techniques, and/or early warning systems and on-track indicators. The job will involve travel six to ten days per month (30-50%).
