About this event

You are invited to join our community of youth and families; Baltimore City Public Schools, Mayor, and Mayoral Cabinet members; Johns Hopkins experts, community organizers, policymakers, and scholars in attending the 2022 Fulfilling the Promise Symposium.

Over the last two years, the Nobody Asked Me Campaign has worked in the Baltimore community to elevate the voices of students, families, and communities residing in Baltimore City. Using qualitative research and analysis, Dr. Richard Lofton (Johns Hopkins School of Education), and his team of researchers have been highlighting disparities and identifying possibilities across multiple pillars to empower communities to create effective and positive change.

During this highly anticipated symposium, the Nobody Asked Me Campaign will discuss what’s been found after two years of engaging in the community and reveal policy recommendations that were co-produced by students, parents, community members, and experts. This collection of attendees will help break down silos and open lines of communication between youth, community advocacy leaders, academic experts, Baltimore City and Schools leadership, as well as Maryland state representatives.
